NEXT MEETING OF KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL COUNCIL WAS HELD

Prishtina, 26th of June 2015 – There was held the hundredth meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, chaired by the Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, simultaneously Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi.

During this meeting members of Prosecutorial Council following the discussions have established the Committee in charge of Reconsideration for Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosova and the Committee in charge of Reconsideration for the Office of Chief State Prosecutor. Members of the Committee for OCHSP were assigned to be: Idain Ismaijli, Jusuf Mejzini and Bedrije Alshiqi. Whereas, in the Committee for SPRK in the capacity of members were assigned Idain Ismaijli, Laura Pula and Xhevdet Bislimi. Members of KPC have also established the Committee in charge for Reconsideration and for Prosecutors for integration of the non-majority Serbian community, in the following composition: Teki Bokshi, Radica Milic and Claudio Pola.

During this meeting National Coordinator in charge of Economic Crimes, Shqipdon Fazliu, has presented quarterly report for time period October-December 2014 and January-March 2014. KPC members following the high appraisal of these reports have commended Coordinator Fazliu for the work he has done, and have approved the presented reports from Coordinator Fazliu. Kosovo Prosecutorial Council following the numerous discussions has also approved the Annual Performance Report of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council for 2014. In this meeting was also reviewed the submission of the resignation of Ehat Miftaraj from the position of the Director of Prosecutors` Performance Assessment Unit. Before acceptance of the named resignation, upon the invitation of KPC members was invited Prosecutor Bahri Hyseni, Head of the Committee established upon the KPC Decision on 13th of May 2015.

The named Committee was obliged to prepare the legal opinion regarding the mandate of the Director of the Secretariat of the Office of Chief State Prosecutor and mandate of the Director of Prosecutors` Performance Assessment Unit, and to also to present findings and recommendations of the named Committee. Prosecutor Hyseni following the detailed analysis of the findings regarding the mandate of the Director of Prosecutors` Performance Assessment Unit has informed that the Committee recommends to KPC to bring the Decision on announcement of the public vacancy for this position or to decide on extension of the mandate for three more years, by establishing in advance a Committee for Performance Evaluation and then based on the recommendations of the respective Committee to decide the extension or not of the contract for the Director of this Unit, Ehat Miftaraj.

KPC members after hearing recommendations of the Committee has decided to approve the resignation of Ehat Miftaraj from the position of the Director of Prosecutors` Performance Assessment Unit, and they have also authorized Chief State Prosecutor to assign the Acting Director for this position until the selection of the new Director. Today, Chief State Prosecutor Lumezi has also assigned Acting Director of the respective Unit, Naser Hasani, who holds the p osition of the Manager of the Office for Statistics within the Prosecutors` and Prosecutions` Performance Assessment Unit in KPC.

At the end of this meeting there were discussions and for the new composition of KPC, based on the KPC Law amendments that will entry into force on 1st of January 2016. Concerning this matter there is decided to hold a special meeting in which Prosecutorial Council members shall discuss and analyse amendments provided by this Law.
