State Prosecutor
The State Prosecutor is an independent institution with authority and responsibility for the prosecution of persons charged with any criminal offense or any other offense as provided by law. The State Prosecutor is an impartial institution, acting according to the Constitution and the law. The organization, powers and duties of the State Prosecutor shall be regulated by law. The State Prosecutor reflects the multi-ethnic composition of the Republic of Kosovo and respects the principles of gender equality. The initial mandate for a prosecutor is three years. In case of reappointment, the mandate is permanent until the retirement age, as provided by law, unless dismissed in accordance with the law.
