Motion for Detention on Remand for Attempted Murder
Mitrovica, February 21, 2024 - The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, Department of Serious Crimes, at the Basic Court in Mitrovica, has filed a request for the detention on remand of the suspect B.O., as there is reasonable suspicion that he has committed the criminal offenses of “Attempted Murder” under Article 172 in conjunction with Article 28, and “Unauthorized Possession, Control, or Ownership of Weapons” under Article 366, paragraph 1, of the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
On February 20, 2024, in the village of Sllatina in Vushtrri, the suspect, during a quarrel over a property being worked on by the victim N.V., drew a revolver from his waist with the intent to deprive the victim of life and shot towards the victim, hitting the latter on the body with the bullets.
The suspect’s revolver/weapon was found and confiscated during a house search by the police.
The suspect is currently in detention by order of the state prosecutor.
A hearing for the imposing detention on remand measure against the suspect is expected to be held at the Basic Court in Mitrovica.
