The next meeting of the Steering Committee for the Rule of Law Strategy is held

Pristina, 27 July 2022 – The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Jetish Maloku, participated in the next meeting of the Steering Committee for the Rule of Law Strategy, which was attended by the Chairman of the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Internal Affairs.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the draft of the six-month report on the implementation of the Action Plan of the Rule of Law Strategy (2021-2026), as well as the presentations of the members of the inter-institutional coordinating body of the Strategy, who have presented the assessment of the implementation of activities, achievements and institutional challenges, which the justice system is facing, emphasizing the commitment to create an efficient, transparent and equal justice with a focus on the public and the public's access to justice.

The head of the KPC, Jetish Maloku, said during his presentation that the prosecutorial system has worked systematically and continues to work on the implementation of activities related to strengthening the rule of law in our country and that the successes and achievements are visible, highlighting to the attendees that the KPC has advanced the various processes, based on the objectives set by law and those included in the sectorial strategy for the rule of law.

Consequently, Chairman Maloku and the other members of the Steering Committee for the Rule of Law also discussed the steps that should be taken to implement the activities that already present challenges, such as the budget and human capacities and, also, the practical implementation of the strategy, the review of the Strategy Action Plan, the support of donors in the implementation of the activities of this strategy and the implementation of the CEPEJ standards were the focus of the discussions.
