The cooperation of the State Prosecutor with the French justice institutions is appreciated

Prishtina, November 19, 2021 - The Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, received in a meeting the Ambassador of France in Kosovo, Marie-Christine Butel.

Evaluation of the legal cooperation between the State Prosecutor and the institutions of justice in France, the deepening of this cooperation, especially with the National School of Magistrates and National Financial Prosecutor’s Office in France in the exchange of experiences in the field of organized crime investigation, corruption and terrorism, as well as the strengthening of internal institutional mechanisms in evaluating, disciplining, controlling and strengthening the integrity and ethics of prosecutors, were some of the topics of discussion between Chief State Prosecutor Lumezi and Ambassador Butel.

Also, an important topic in this meeting was the discussion of matters related to legislative reforms and their importance, in which case it was considered essential to respect the freedom and independence of the judiciary, which includes the prosecutorial system. .

The Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, thanked the Ambassador of France in Kosovo, Marie-Christine Butel, for the assistance and support that the French state has been giving to the prosecutorial system, especially for the possibility that Kosovar prosecutors through the programs of the French National School of Magistrates are participating in trainings related to the field of fighting corruption.

Meanwhile, the French Ambassador highly appreciated the cooperation relations between the Kosovo and French prosecutors.

In the end, the interlocutors assessed this meeting as very valuable and productive and expressed mutual readiness to deepen institutional cooperation in the future.
