THERE WAS HELD THE NEXT MEETING OF KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL COUNCIL

Prishtina, 29th of December 2015 – There was held the one-hundred-tenth meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, chaired by Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, simultaneously Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi.

In today`s meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council were discussed and approved four Regulations. - Regulation on Election of the Chairman and Deputy- Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council; - Regulation on Organization and Scope of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council; - Regulation on Internal Organization and Function of State Prosecutor of Kosova; as well as - Regulation on Prosecutors` Performance Evaluation;

KPC members have also taken the decision on establishment of the Unit in charge of fighting Corruption and Economic Crimes, including sequestration and confiscation of unlawfully acquired assets, which will function within the Serious Crimes Prosecution Department and General Department. The aforementioned Unit will be composed of ten (10) Prosecutors in total, six (6) of them in SCPD and four (4) in GD.

There was also established the Monitoring Committee of the Unit in charge of fighting Corruption and Economic Crimes, including sequestration and confiscation of unlawfully acquired assets, in the following composition: Prosecutor Lulzim Sulejmani from the Office of Chief State Prosecutor, Shqipdon Fazliu from KPC and Haxhi Dërguti from Appellate Prosecution. KPC has brought the decision to send names of two EULEX Prosecutors, Lars Agren and Tomas Meskauskas, to the President of the Republic of Kosova for decreeing. KPC members were informed regarding the nomination of the members from civil society, Chamber of Advocates and Faculties of Law. KPC member have also brought the decision on publishing the vacancy announcement for KPC members coming from civil society and Faculties of Law.

Today, KPC members were also informed regarding the election process of new KPC members that took place on 12th of December. Chairman of Prosecutorial Council, Aleksandër Lumezi, has informed today that every Prosecutor speaking English language can apply for scholarship for Master Studies in the Wake Forest University in United States of America, project that is supported by American Embassy in Kosova. Today, before KPC members, Director of Prosecutors` Performance Evaluation Unit, Lavdim Krasniqi, has presented Annual Action Plan for 2016, which was highly appraised and approved.

During the KPC meeting, General Director of the State Prosecutor, Shkëlzen Maliqi, has reported regarding the Financial Report for 2015. The named report was approved by the members of the Council. KPC members have also reviewed and approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) and Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), and the Memorandum of Understanding bound between Central Election Commission (CEC), Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP), Kosovo Police (KP), State Prosecutor (SP) and Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC).

At the end of the meeting, due to the fact that the current composition of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council will be as such only until 31st of December 2015, Chairman of Prosecutorial Council, Aleksandër Lumezi, has thanked members of this Council for the contribution they have given in the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council since its establishment until today; whereas, from 1st of January 2016, KPC shall have new composition.
