KPC and OSCE support advancement of "ex officio" protection system
Prishtina, 3rd of March 2016 – Today, Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Blerim Isufaj, has hosted for a meeting the Chief of the Law and Justice Section in OSCE Mission in Kosova, Ralph Bunche.
In this meeting, Chief of the Law and Justice Section in OSBE Mission in Kosova, Ralph Bunche has greeted Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj for being elected Head of KPC, and he has informed him for the work OSCE is doing in monitoring justice system in Kosova.
KPC Chairman, Blerim Isufaj, after thanking OSCE Representative for the readiness of this mission to support prosecutorial system, said that he will work on intensifying the cooperation between KPC and OSCE.
Important discussion topic in this meeting was advancement of the “ex officio” protection system, regarding which was said that there shall be signed a Memorandum of Understanding between KPC, OSCE and other Institutions, on advancement of the named system.
Both interlocutors have agreed that KPC shall be informed about the reports and recommendations given by OSCE deriving from the monitoring of the justice system; and that OSCE shall also support prosecutorial system of Kosova in increasing capacities of the Committees and staff of this system. In addition, the agreeing was also that OSCE shall provide support for KPC through monitoring during the Exam process for Prosecutors.
