THERE WAS HELD THE NEXT MEETING OF KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL COUNCIL

Prishtina, 31st of March 2016 – There was held the one-hundred-fourteenth meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), chaired by Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Blerim Isufaj.

In this meeting, Prosecutorial Council members have reviewed and approved the Regulation on the Transfer and Promotion of State Prosecutors. The named Regulation is applicable for all State Prosecutors of all levels, in accordance with the Law on Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and Law on State Prosecutor. The purpose behind this Regulation is setting of the criteria and procedures regarding transfer and promotion of State Prosecutors.

In today`s meeting members of the Prosecutorial Council have also assigned Prosecutor Ali Selimi in the position of the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution of Gjakova.

Council members in this meeting have also established the Working Group and Experts Group in charge of TIK/SMIL Project. The named Working Group will be composed of six members, whereas Experts Group will be composed of four members.

Prosecutorial Council members have rejected the request of the Lawyer Ethem Rogova, for dismissal of all Prosecutors and Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Gjilan, as well as dismissal of Chief State Prosecutor.

There is worth of emphasizing that members of Prosecutorial Council have approved the report of the Committee in charge of reviewing eligibility of the nominated candidates from civil society for member of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council. Out of four (4) presented nominees,  the Committee has found that candidates, Shemsi Jashari, Ilir Dukolli and Naim Krasniqi meet the criteria that are stipulated by the vacancy announcement, whereas candidate Hajrullah Mustafa based on the documentation  submitted to the Council does not meet the criteria foreseen by the vacancy.
