Detention on remand is requested for the suspect in the rape case in Kaçanik
Ferizaj, January 10, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj, Department of Serious Crimes, announces to the public opinion that it has requested from the Basic Court in Ferizaj, imposing the measure of detention for 30 days against the suspect with the initials E.K., due to the suspicion based on the fact that the same person has sexually abused the injured party - aged under 16 years, with which he would commit the criminal offense “Rape” under Article 227 paragraph 6 in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
Also, regarding the same, according to the Prosecution Office, there is a suspicion based on the fact that on 09.01.2024, in Kaçanik, namely in an apartment that was previously used as an office, the defendant, as an adult, unlawfully deprived vulnerable victim of her freedom - the injured minor. After leaving the apartment, he had locked the injured from the outside with which he would commit the criminal offense “Unlawful deprivation of liberty” under article 193 paragraph 2 subsection 2.1 related to paragraph 1 of CCRK.
The defendant, by decision of the State Prosecutor, is under a 48-hour detention measure for the aforementioned criminal offenses.
