The Acting Chief State Prosecutor met the Minister of Justice
Prishtina, November 10, 2023 – The Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, today met the Minister of Justice Ms. Albulena Haxhiu, with whom were discussed issues of common interest.
In the meeting, in particular, it was discussed about the new Law on the prevention and addressing of domestic violence - the defense counsels of the victims, namely the need to increase their number, the cooperation with the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Kosovo Agency for Forensics and Psychiatric Forensics.
It was also discussed about mediation, the need to increase the number of prosecutors in relation to the number of judges, the facilities of the prosecution in Mitrovica and Prizren as well as other more important issues of inter-institutional cooperation.
Also, the parties agreed on the continuation of mutual cooperation in terms of addressing and implementing justice reforms.
