Motion for Detention on Remand due to Receiving and Giving Bribes, an Official of TAK in Mitrovica also involved
Mitrovica, April 25, 2024 - The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica, Department of Serious Crimes of the Basic Court in Mitrovica, has filed a motion for the imposing of detention on remand against the suspect Q.M., inspector of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) in Mitrovica, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Taking a Bribe” under Article 421, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK), and for S.S., from Novi Pazar, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Giving a Bribe” under Article 422, Paragraph 1 of the KPRK.
The suspect Q.M., an inspector of TAK in Mitrovica, is suspected of directly accepting the sum of one hundred and thirty-five (135) euros on April 24, 2024, at the parking lot of the Customs Terminal in Mitrovica, in order to disregard his official duty.
The suspect S.S. is suspected of giving a gift of one hundred and thirty-five (135) euros to the official person in order to facilitate the procedures for the release of goods, with the intention that he would not act in accordance with his official duty.
The hearing for determining the detention on remand measure against the defendants is expected to be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Basic Court in Mitrovica.
